$150 million draw announced after no one matches winning numbers

The staggering jackpot is the biggest since February and the third biggest lottery prize in Australian history.
The cash is up for grabs after no one won this week’s prize, despite millions vying for the chance to win.
At 6.44pm there were 7,980 entries bought in just one minute, lottery bosses said.
Just one Division One winner next week would be the biggest individual Lotto winner in Australian history, according to The Lott.
“There’s no denying that the prospect of winning a share of the $150 million premiership prize will capture the attention of countless Australians over the coming days as excitement continues to build,” The Lott spokeswoman Anna Hobdell said.
“We expect a surge in lottery outlets and online as Thursday night’s million dollar draw approaches, with up to half of Australians of legal age expected to enter the draw,” a spokesman said.
“We’ve only seen the Powerball offer $150 million on two previous occasions. In 2019, three winning entries in Division One shared the prize, until earlier this year the jackpot was not won and the prize went higher.’
Although no entries scored a prize in Division One in tonight’s $100 million Powerball drawing, 3,197,881 prizes worth more than $64.37 million were won in Divisions Two through Nine.
There were 10 second division winners, each taking home a prize of $179,059.50.
The Lott said Australia’s biggest lottery winner was a Sydney nurse who won more than $107 million in 2019.
“At first she thought she only won $107,000 and was amazed to find her real prize was 1,000 times that,” Hobdell said.
“And in the last 12 months, we’ve seen three people earn $100 million each.
“First it was a Bankstown dad who won in June last year with a six-game QuickPick, then a Hawthorne woman and a Singleton couple shared February’s $200 million jackpot.”
