Brisbane bus crash victim sent to her boyfriend

The boyfriend of a teenage girl fatally struck by a bus in Brisbane CBD shared the last heartbreaking message she sent him.

In the three months since the tragedy, her friend Hayden McKinley mustered the courage to finally talk about her death.

He said he received a video message from Cameron showing her beauty procedure moments after she left the salon.

“And yes, our last phone call was ‘I love you and see you soon,'” he said.

The couple were high school sweethearts and met when they were 12 and 13 years old.

“I still think I’m still going to hear from her, I’m still going to see her, the truth is, it’s not going to happen,” McKinley said. 

He said they were planning their future when the tragedy happened.

“We had planned so much together, to travel, to buy our first home, to have children. It was all there until this happened,” he said.

Bus driver Lindsey Selby, 70, was yesterday charged with one count of careless driving causing death.

Selby is due in court on June 26.
