Around 2pm yesterday three men, aged 18, 23 and 29, absconded from custody at Darwin Police Station on Knuckey Street.
The two younger men were soon apprehended in the Esplanade area and are back in custody.
The third man, 29-year-old Lazar Bara Bara, is believed to have fled the city.
It was last seen jumping into the jute tray and is believed to have traveled south from Darwin towards the Adelaide River.
Anyone who sees Bara Bara or knows of his whereabouts is urged not to approach him and to call police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
