Everything to Know About ‘Bridgerton’ Season 3
[ad_1]
It’s May, which means Bridgerton’s third season premiere is just a short carriage ride away. The Netflix series known for soirées, scandals and hot romances turns things around for Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington, or “Pauline” for short.
Based on the book series by Julia Quinn Bridgerton, Netflix’s wildly popular Regency-era show follows the fictional Bridgerton siblings and (so far) chronicles their love stories. Season 3 will be the first to not follow the order of Quinn’s novels, bypassing the third book about Colin’s brother Benedict to focus on the fourth. (But that doesn’t mean the show won’t eventually get to Benedict.) While last season said To Anthony and Kate saga of enemies to lovers, this season could potentially push Pauline from close friends to something more.
Season 3 is a two-parter with premiere dates in May and June. Bridgerton will be back for Season 4, but here’s what you need to know about the show’s next season, which is sure to be swoon-worthy.
When does the new season drop?
Grab a pen (or a more modern writing utensil) because you have to write two release dates for Bridgerton season three.
The first date marking the release of the first four episodes is May 16and the remaining four episodes arrive on June 13. You will be able to watch the new drops from 3 a.m. ET/midnight PT.
New to Netflix? You can choose an ad-free or ad-supported plan to watch all of Bridgerton and the standalone movie Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. Note that if you choose Netflix’s $7 per month plan with ads, some titles will be banned due to licensing restrictions (rom-com Anyone but You starring Sidney Sweeney is one example). Read more about the streamer in our review.
Here are all the episodes from the two-part season:
Episode 1 – Out of the Shadows
Episode 2 – How Bright is the Moon
Episode 3 – The Forces of Nature
Episode 4 – Old Friends
Episode 5 – Tick Tock
Episode 6 – Romantic Mr. Bridgerton
Episode 7 – Linking Hands
Episode 8 – Into the Light
What can I expect this season?
Bridgerton is set in London in the early 1800s (well, a fantasy version) and revolves around the romances of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dinever) and Simon Bassett/The Duke of Hastings (Rege-Jean Page) and Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley). Now Colin (Luke Newton), Bridgerton’s third son, and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan), Featherington’s third daughter, are finally the main characters, and the audience will find out “how (or if…)” they go from friends to lovers , according to Netflix.
Besides friendship, part of Pauline’s journey so far has been hidden feelings. Season 3 showrunner Jess Brownell said Entertainment Weekly this setup made the timing right for Pauline’s season. “We spent two seasons getting to know Penn and Colin. We watched Penn fall in love and saw how oblivious Colin was about it. It’s a dynamic you can only play for so long before something changes,” Brownell told the magazine.
Season 3 won’t be a walk in the park for Colin after the events of the season 2 finale. The season will catch up with Pauline after Penn overhears Colin saying that he would never dream of courting her. Brownell told the magazine that in terms of recovering from it, “we’re going to make him work for it.”
If Colin had the upper hand before, that will no longer be the case in Season 3. Newton said Bustle “Nick and I have talked so many times about how Colin always held the power in their relationship because of how she felt about him. It was fun to play out the whole exchange of how she gains that strength and confidence. We turned everything on its head.”
Full synopsis please
If you’re desperate for details like the contents of an exciting scandal sheet, Netflix has provided a lengthy synopsis for Bridgerton season 3. The summary contains some spoilers related to a certain Lady Whistledown. (If you don’t know what I mean, you better break free now and watch some Bridgerton).
According to Netflix, season 3 “finds Penelope Featherington finally giving up on her longtime crush on Colin Bridgerton after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. However, she decided it was time to get a husband, preferably one that will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, away from her mother and sisters, but due to her lack of confidence, Penelope’s attempts at the marriage market fail spectacularly.
“Meanwhile,” according to Netflix, “Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of flair. But he is disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who has always appreciated him for who he is, is giving him away.Eager to win back his friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in ways to help her find a husband through this season, but when his lessons start working too well, Colin must wrestle with whether his feelings for Penelope are. really just amicably complicating things for Penelope is her rift with Eloise (Claudia Jessie), who has found a new friend in a very unlikely place, while Penelope’s growing presence in the tone makes it even harder to maintain her Lady Whistledown alter ego. a secret.”
Who’s in the cast
In addition to Newton, Coughlan, Jesse, Ashley and Bailey, the returning cast for season 3 includes Luke Thompson as Benedict, Golda Rochevel as Queen Charlotte, Ajoah Ando as Lady Danbury, Ruth Gemmell as Violet Bridgerton, Lorraine Ashburn as Mme. Varley, Harriet Caines as Philippa Featherington, Bessie Carter as Prudence Featherington, Jessica Madsen as Cressida Cowper, Florence Hunt as Hyacinth Bridgerton, Martins Imhangbe as Will Mondrich, Will Tilston as Gregory Bridgerton, Polly Walker as Portia Featherington and Julie Andrews as Lady Voice Whistledown.
Hannah Dodd takes on the role of Francesca Bridgerton, and other new cast members include Daniel Francis as Marcus Anderson, James Foon as Harry Dankworth and Sam Phillips as Lord Debling, Penn’s suitor. Page, who starred in Season 1 alongside Dynevor, confirmed via Instagram that he will not be present this season and the same may apply to Dynevor who Screenrant said she is “just excited to watch (Season 3) as a viewer.”
Will there be a Season 4 of Bridgerton? Which sibling is next?
yes, Netflix renewed Bridgerton for seasons 3 and 4 in 2021, but it’s still anyone’s guess which Bridgerton sibling Season 4 will focus on. There’s a book for each of the eight siblings, and while the show deviates from their order, executive producer Shonda Rhimes told Entertainment Tonight that the goal is to follow each of the brothers’ romantic stories (probably over eight seasons). Benedict, who would have been if the show had stuck with Quinn’s sequence, could have been the chosen one for Season 4.
The end of season 3 will include clues about which sibling is next, according to Brownell in an interview with TV Insider.
Is there a trailer?
Indeed. in the official trailer, Eloise has latched onto Cressida instead of her usual best pen. This definitely ties into the intense fight between Penn and Eloise last season, but it’s still hard to see the pained look on Penn’s face.
Colin, now looking “healthier” than ever, wants to help Penn in her quest to find a husband and escape the Featherington household. But the consequences of the final have not played out for them either. Will the friendships mend? Will Penelope find a partner? The sustained eye contact in this trailer gives me my suspicions.
What else can I watch right now?
Season 3 won’t miss last season’s love match – enemies-turned-lovers Kate and Anthony. They still seem happy together, according to the following clip, which features Dodd, the new actress who plays Francesca.
in another look at season 3, The chemistry between Penn and Colin is on display as Penn appears to be practicing for the real deal with his beloved son Bridgerton. there is also this tense clip showing Penn confronting Colin about his offensive words last season. This is a bit of a spoiler if you’d rather wait to watch the confrontation on the show.
