Four teenagers were charged today after police chased two allegedly stolen luxury cars through the streets of the Gold Coast.
The two 15-year-olds and two 16-year-olds will appear in court today accused of stealing a gray Maserati Grecale and a black Porsche Macan from a Broadbeach Waters property at 12.40pm yesterday.
Soon after, police spotted the two vehicles traveling eastbound on the Logan Freeway and began tracking them southbound on the M1.
At 3:30 p.m., the Maserati stopped in Nerang after getting stuck in a median and officers arrested the two teenagers inside.
The Porsche stopped a short time later in Benalla Court in Arundel and two teenagers were arrested.
Police told 9News that the alleged stolen cars were driven at a high rate of speed.
“They were driving at extremely high speeds up the M1 to Logan and back, and up and down a number of times, so all four offenders are minors,” a police spokesman said.
The four teenagers have been charged with various property and dangerous crimes.
A boy is charged with possession of a dangerous drug.
They are all due to appear in Southport Children’s Court today.
