Guests were thrown from their seats when an out-of-control BMW smashed into the front of a restaurant in Melbourne southeast.
The 77-year-old driver had three passengers in the car when he is believed to have hit the accelerator instead of the brake and driven straight into the lobster cave in Beaumaris just before 9pm on Wednesday.

Security footage from inside the restaurant shows the car crashing through the glass as diners take cover and some fall to the floor.
Another angle, shot from the street, shows a woman casually looking out the window and jumping back in shock as the BMW drives straight through the parking lot and onto the crosswalk.
“We had food. We were eating lobster and redeye fillets and we heard an engine screeching,” Mark Hardman, who was sitting by the window, told 7NEWS.
Hardman’s friend was almost hit by the car. He confronted the driver, saying, “You almost killed me.”
Remarkably, no one was injured in the crash.
Staff said a table of 10 patrons sitting in the window just before the crash left just in time to avoid being hit.
The man and his three companions were in a nearby bar.
Police said the driver was below the legal blood alcohol limit.
He told police he accidentally hit the accelerator while trying to find the brake.
The disaster caused thousands of dollars in damage to Lobster Cave and it is not known when it will be able to resume business.
“As long as nobody gets hurt, that’s the most important thing. That was our only concern,” employee Dina Fergadiotis said.
