A woman is fighting for her life after being hit by a car while crossing a road in Melbourne north.
The pedestrian is believed to have been crossing Johnstone St, Jacana at around 9.45pm on Friday when she was hit by a Toyota hatchback.
The 40-year-old man’s life is in danger and he was taken to hospital.
The driver of the Toyota, a 58-year-old man from Greenvale, stopped at the scene.
He helps the police
“The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be ascertained and investigations are ongoing,” police said.
