Queensland drivers will save 20 per cent on their car registration under a cost-of-living relief measure announced by Queensland Government.
Premier Stephen Miles said the savings would apply over 12 months to light vehicle registrations from September 16, 2024.
It will also include motorcycles and light trailers.

Charges for a four-cylinder car will be reduced by $85, bringing the registration price to $338.75, excluding mandatory third-party insurance.
Concession cardholders will save almost $50, bringing their toll to $194.50, excluding mandatory third-party insurance.
The announcement comes ahead of the state budget, which will be released on June 11.
It also follows a freeze on car registration fee increases announced at the end of 2023.
Miles said the 2024-25 Budget would include significant cost-of-living relief for Queenslanders.
“Every dollar counts, so I’m doing what matters to put money back into the pockets of Queenslanders,” Mile said.
“This initiative will save the 5.7 million car owners here in Queensland hundreds of dollars over 12 months – dollars that can be spent on groceries, rent, a mortgage or put into savings.”
Drivers will see the changes reflected in their registration bills from August.
