A surfer has gone missing from a beach in Western Australia.
Washington Police were told a surfer went missing from Surfers Point in Prevelly at 4.35pm on Friday.
The male surfer, in his 40s, was spotted in the water by a second surfer who noticed he needed help, but the rough conditions prevented him from helping.
Emergency services arrived at the scene and began a search of the water and beach.
It has not yet been discovered.
Police will continue the search today with local marine rescue and emergency services.
Surfers Point has been closed and members of the public have been advised to avoid the area.
The beach is a popular spot for surfers in the Margaret River area.
