A surfer in his 40s has gone missing in the waters off a popular beach in Western Australia’s Margaret River region.
The man was spotted by another surfer in the water at Surfer’s Point in Prevelly, about 8km west of Margaret River, late on Friday afternoon.
Western Australian police said due to rough seas the man was unable to help the surfer.
A number of services have been sent to the beach and will continue to search for the man on Saturday.

Police said Surfer’s Point was closed and people were being advised to avoid the area.
